Sartorius’ key automation platform is based on the use of a flexible digital control unit (DCU). The key design principles for the interface are “intuitive use”. By grouping process parameters, controls, and alarms around process diagrams, user actions are efficiently routed through the menu.

The BioPAT® DCU is equipped with step calibrations for pH and DO probes and enables feeding strategies based on automated sequences.

Compared to the designed system, the BioPAT® DCU offers unsuccessful prices and performance, covering a wide range of standard and advanced functionality. Increased operational efficiency can be achieved in related process steps such as media preparation or cell collection where the BioPAT® DCU serves as the local control unit for the operation of our FlexAct® units (eg FlexAct® MP and FlexAct® CH).

In addition, the BioPAT® DCU offers a plug-and-play interface of Sartorius Biobrain® Supervise SCADA software to enable bioprocess monitoring and data collection.

Optionally integrated DCU configuration environment (ICE), the program is based on Windows® to configure the DCU system according to special needs, which includes changes in IO hardware, functional blocks (measurement, control) and HMI.
