Virosart® Max Pre-filters

Applications:

• positioning - the main application for Virosart® Max * is the protection of the final retentive membrane of the virus. For this purpose, this filter is used at the end of the purification process in accordance with the final step of filtering the virus of the biopharmaceutical product. The optimized ratio of prefilter and final filter should be determined during the development of the virus filtration steps.
• operating principles - Virosart® Max * combines a size-exclusion mechanism with efficient adsorption capacities to increase the robustness of the next virus filtration step. The most challenging molecules for the final retentive membrane of the virus are aggregates and/or small hydrophobic molecules. Virosart® Max binds aggregates very effectively by hydrophobic interactions, independent of process conditions such as conductivity.

* Patented technology (DE 10 2011 105 525 B4) effectively binds aggregates by hydrophobic interactions with polyamide, independent of process conditions such as conductivity from biological nutrient streams (mAbs, plasma derivatives or recombinant proteins).
