Ambr® Crossflow

Ambr® Crossflow is a high-throughput automated system for parallel testing of molecule behavior in early development stages, such as viscosity, buffer composition, shear forces, and performance in TFF processes. This enables the introduction of additional candidate selection criteria and the investigation of manufacturability factors.

Ambr® Crossflow is a high-throughput automated system that enables the exploration of a greater number of molecule-buffer combinations and process conditions. The result is significantly improved productivity and efficiency in early-stage research and development, with reduced cost per experiment.

Ambr® Crossflow is a lab-scale TFF system optimized for ultrafiltration and diafiltration applications. It is a small-volume screening system with a minimum recirculation volume of 5 mL and features the new line of Ambr® CF filter cassettes with a membrane area of 10 cm². The optional Ambr® CF Adapter Kit SC50 enables the use of Sartocon® Slice 50 cassettes with a membrane area of 50 cm². Parallel operation is supported by 4 independent crossflow channels per module, and up to 4 modules can be managed by a single control station, allowing simultaneous operation of up to 16 Ambr® CF filters.

The intuitive hardware and software design ensures easy setup and use, while full automation guarantees reliable process control and minimal manual intervention.

Automated Processing

  • Expand and tailor your Ambr® Crossflow system with Ambr® CF extension kits for 4, 8, 12, or 16 channels
  • Each module contains four independent crossflow channels, and up to four modules can be managed by a single control unit, enabling screening with up to 16 Ambr® CF filters and 32 diafiltration buffers

Increase R&D Productivity

Ambr® Crossflow can be used as a ranking and optimization tool for:

  • Process conditions (e.g., TMP or flow rate)
  • Handling parameters (e.g., buffer type or required volumes)
  • pH and/or conductivity

Automated System Control

System operation requires minimal manual input. The 21” touchscreen displays all process information and enables simple user interaction, even during real-time process changes.

Process Sequences

Recipe design allows the use of pre-programmed “drag and drop” steps or custom-built sequences. Each channel runs independently with separate control of process conditions, setpoints, and control strategies. The software can also be installed on user PCs for offline sequence creation, which can later be uploaded to the system.

Data Collection

All data are automatically captured and saved to the experiment folder. They can be viewed via the control unit or on a user PC using Ambr® Crossflow software. Data can be exported in .csv format.
